Notes
Adjust the heat
Chili powders vary in intensity. Start with 2 teaspoons if you prefer a milder flavour, then increase to 3 teaspoons or more to suit your taste.
Switch up the nuts and seeds
Feel free to substitute other nuts or seeds you have on hand. Just keep the total quantity approximately the same.
For extra flavour
A pinch of smoked paprika or ground cumin can complement the chili powder nicely.
Watch the oven
Maple syrup can cause the mixture to brown quickly, so check it near the end of baking. The nuts and seeds will crisp up further as they cool.
Storage
Once completely cool, store in an airtight container at room temperature. For the best flavour and freshness, enjoy within 1–2 weeks. You can also refrigerate them to help preserve freshness.
